I am writing to thank Denise for all that she has done for our family. She fully supported us through the very confusing and heartbreaking journey of having a family member heal his way through a brain injury. I saw Denise on TV offering up information supporting brain injury awareness week and contacted her that day. It was a game changer. She took the time to help us understand how long it does take for a brain injury to heal and all of the ups and downs that one goes through in order to keep moving forward. She gave us so many resources to not only help ourselves but to also assist my brother in healing his mind and his body after the accident. He is still using the self-care techniques that Denise suggested. Due to the fact I was able to speak to Denise about her journey through a brain injury it made things that much more understandable and that much more attainable. Denise brought light into our lives after a very dark period. She is truly an inspiration. Thank you so much for everything you have done for our family. You will never be forgotten.

When I first met Denise I was so inspired by her courage and tenacity during her remarkable recovery from a traumatic brain injury. I recently had the privilege of hearing Denise present at the Brain Injury Program Conference on March 3, 2015, where healthcare professionals gathered to discuss the most beneficial strategies and tools in brain injury rehabilitation. Having heard many traumatic brain injury survivor presentations over the years, Denise’s presentation was one of the most compelling and passionate I’ve ever heard. She blends positivity with hope and inspires everyone she connects with to give their best each and every day!
